The boys aim to defend their title at this year's Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Tournament at the JFK Memorial Coliseum, December 26-28. With last year's win, the boys will be heading into this year's tournament as the #1 seed. The schedule will be determined according the the bracket below:
BRIAN C. STONE MEMORIAL CHRISTMAS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
Welcome player, family and hockey fans to the 43rd annual high school hockey tournament at the JFK Memorial Coliseum in Manchester. An event that honors a friend of our local hockey community, and a legend of New Hampshire hockey, Brian C. Stone.
Coach Stone was a long-time player, coach and mentor, and a beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend. Coach Stone passed suddenly in March 2018, at the age of 51. He had just finished the season as assistant coach of Trinity High School's hockey team. Over the course of his career, Coach Stone also served on the coaching staff of Memorial High School's hockey team, and as head coach for Central High School hockey.
He grew up playing hockey for the Manchester Flames, and went on to play for Central High School and New England College. His skill, passion and commitment earned him inductions into the New England College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, Queen City Hall of Fame in 2002, the NH Legends of Hockey in 2006, and for the 2013-2014 season, he was voted Coach of the Year by the New Hampshire High School Hockey Coaches Association. Coach Stone felt the most important role he played was as mentor to his players. He encouraged them to volunteer and help others in the community, and reminded them often that the only things they could control in life were attitude and effort. In 2018, this annual high school hockey tournament was formally re-named the Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament.
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Forty-three years ago, Manchester Memorial High School Hockey Coach Hubie McDonough Jr. and Manchester Central High School Hockey Coach Wally Tafe Jr. had a holiday wish - that their hockey teams could play more than the NHIAA regular season schedule of 18 games. In 1981, that wish morphed into the first Manchester High School Christmas Hockey Tournament, with four teams competing against each other. McDonough's Memorial High School Crusaders took the title of Tournament Champions that first year.
The popular tournament expanded to eight teams, with Manchester's "original four" Central, Memorial, Trinitiy and West competing against local and regional high schools. It was often referred to as "Manchester's Bean Pot".
The tourney hit a rough patch with the unexpected loss of its primary sponsor, and the Manchester High School Christmas Tournament was no more. Fast-forward to 2010, when a group of hockey enthusiasts, spearheaded by George 'Butch' Joseph, formed a committee to resurrect the tournament. Since then, the volunteer committee, thanks to the generosity of sponsors, has successfully organized and run the tournament year after year.

You must provide your own skates (no rentals)
Young children and inexperienced skaters are encouraged to wear a helmet.
It is recommended that you have some basic skating skills and, if teaching an inexperienced skater, accompany them on the ice and stay with them to ensure their safety.
A liability waiver will need to be signed by participants and/or parents or guardians of minors to participate. These will be available at the door or you may complete it online here: Liability Waiver
For the safety and enjoyment of all skaters the following are PROHIBITED:
Skating in a manner that endangers or interferes with other skaters’ safety or enjoyment
Recklessness, excessive speeding or weaving though other skaters
Throwing snowballs, playing tag, pinwheels, crack-the-whip, or any other games
Carrying children or other items while skating
Entering ice surface without skates on
Eating or drinking on the ice
Entering ice surface during ice resurfacing
Wearing skates on concrete floors or bleachers
Kicking or causing any damage to ice or boards
Sitting on or leaning over boards
Skating while under the influence of alcohol or other substances
